Yael Stone, a native of Australia and living in New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as a prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael has received her NIDA diploma. Yael despite her young age, has had the chance to study with Australia's most renowned storytellers. Yael leads a highly accomplished career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael's move to New York City began when her show was critically-acclaimed at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Yael is the co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery supports innovative creativity, writing and artistic endeavors through the Bushwick studio.
